Student Support  Services

Our school provides additional services through the Student Services department including career and psychological counseling, life skills workshops, case management, assistance with resumes, job and college applications, and connecting students to resources such as SNAP, mental health services, and Covered California.

Staff continually strive to broaden the level of support services offered to Corpsmembers. In the past year, students benefited from:

  - Mentoring and after-school tutoring
  - Summer Life Skills workshops
  - Referrals and assistance with outside services
  - Mental health workshops with Soluna

  - Bystander Awareness Training with the National Conflict Resolution Center
  - Mental health counseling bimonthly with Family Health Centers of San Diego County.

National School Lunch Program

Urban Corps Charter School participates in the School Breakfast Program (SBP), National School Lunch Program (NSLP), and Seamless Summer Option (SSO) to provide nutritious meals to students all year round. Our school contracts with Top Notch to provide our students with a healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch. Through its participation in Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), all schools at UCCS provide universal meals without needing to collect a meal application.

Click here to download Urban Corps Charter School's amended policy for serving meals to students under the CEP.

We urge students and advocates in the community to join our School Wellness Committee and provide input on the UCCS School Wellness Policy. The UCCS School Wellness Committee meets twice yearly, in July and December. Please join us at our next meeting. Click here to download the current UCCS Wellness Policy.
